Who we are


Michigan Television is a service of Michigan Public Media, licensed to the Regents of the University of Michigan. Studios and main offices are located in Flint, with offices and production facilities in Ann Arbor. Michigan Television can be viewed over-the-air on channel 28 (digital channel 52) in southeast and mid-Michigan. We’re available on Dish Network and DirecTV DBS services in the Flint market, and on cable systems throughout the region. We also offer a second channel on cable in Ann Arbor and surrounding communities. Michigan Television signed on as WFUM on August 23, 1980.

What we do


Michigan Television is committed to programs that challenge and fascinate as they entertain. We’re a member of PBS; we also acquire programs from other sources, and we produce programs about local issues.

How we do it


Members provide the largest source of support for Michigan Television. Support also comes from local corporations and businesses that support public media. Additional support comes from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the University of Michigan.

What is Michigan Public Media?


Michigan Public Media is the name that represents all of the broadcasting services at the University of Michigan. They include Michigan Radio, with stations in Ann Arbor, Flint and Grand Rapids; Michigan Television, and Michigan Productions. Michigan Public Media is headquartered in Ann Arbor.
