Michigan Television's Countdown to Digital

Effective Wednesday, November 19, Michigan Television (WFUM-TV) will become the first public television station in the state to switch to all digital broadcasting. As part of this transition, the station will be off-the-air from Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 19-21, though you will still be able to watch us on cable. Acts of Art: The Prison Creative Arts Project Every year, U-M professors, Janie Paul and Buzz Alexander, along with various volunteers, travel across Michigan to visit prisons and collect art for an annual exhibit of prison art at the University of Michigan. Now in its 13th year, the show has become the largest exhibit of prison art in the country, with hundreds of prisoners participating. While art-making has always been part of prison life, this exhibition in the 'outside' world, no less at a prestigious university, has generated work unlike that of any other state. Acts of Art will broadcast on all PBS stations across Michigan in March and April. More..
