Digital Television Answers

You may have heard about the switch to digital broadcasting that television stations need to make in February, but Michigan Television is the first public TV station in the state to now be broadcasting entirely in digital, over the air on Channel 28.1. That means when you watch Michigan Television, you'll see a better picture and have more program choices. Please note, if you watch the station over-the-air, you may need to re-scan the channels on your television or set top box to reacquire the WFUM-DT signal. Click here to learn more about the digital transition.

Acts of Art: The Prison Creative Arts Project
Every year, U-M professors, Janie Paul and Buzz Alexander, along with various volunteers, travel across Michigan to visit prisons and collect art for an annual exhibit of prison art at the University of Michigan. Now in its 13th year, the show has become the largest exhibit of prison art in the country, with hundreds of prisoners participating. While art-making has always been part of prison life, this exhibition in the 'outside' world, no less at a prestigious university, has generated work unlike that of any other state. Acts of Art will broadcast on all PBS stations across Michigan in March and April. More..
